HISTORY

Lux Biosciences was founded in 2006 with the raising of capital in a series A financing, the in-licensing of ISA247/LX211 from Isotechnika, Inc. and the in-licensing of LX201 from the National Institutes of Health. Based on regulatory interactions with the United States Food and Drug Administration and European health authorities, the company was able to progress these two projects into Phase 3 clinical trials. As of the end of 2007, five pivotal studies were in progress and on-track to enroll some 1,000 patients worldwide. The company has also been able to add to its portfolio an exclusive license to a proprietary bio-erodible polymer technology originally invented at Rutgers University. Furthermore, through collaboration with the University of Missouri, Kansas City, a proprietary topical product for dry eye has been formulated that has progressed into preclinical development.
