Lux Biosciences Sponsors October 6 Event
to Raise Awareness and Help Fund Research Against
Serious Ophthalmic Diseases

-- Supporting MERSI Walk for Vision and
The Foundation for Fighting Blindness --

JERSEY CITY, N.J., September 27, 2007 -- Serious eye diseases like uveitis, macular degeneration and dry eye syndrome threaten the eyesight and lower the quality of life for many thousands of people each year. To help raise awareness about these illnesses and support research aimed at fighting these important ophthalmic diseases, Lux Biosciences is sponsoring a fund raising event on Saturday October 6 to benefit the MERSI Walk for Vision and The Foundation for Fighting Blindness.

The event, to be held from noon to 3 pm on Sundial Field of Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ, will include music, games, food and drink, and a raffle.

“Recent scientific and medical advances are opening the door to a variety of potential new treatment options for serious ophthalmic diseases,” said Ulrich Grau, Ph.D., president and chief executive of Lux Biosciences. “As a company actively engaged in the clinical development of several of these therapies, we are very pleased to support the activities of the MERSI Walk for Vision and The Foundation for Fighting Blindness as patient advocates and supporters of research within this important field of medicine.”
